"This was one of the strongest prototype models I’ve seen for the second-year chair project, especially given the complexity of the multi-material approach and component assemblies." - Barro De Gast

What is the 'Wrangler'?

The 'Wrangler' is a fishing chair designed by a group of second year students. It is designed to be the ultimate place for someone who likes fishing. It includes features such as an inbuilt bait bucket and fully adjustable feet to make hours of comfortable fishing, while also folding up for transport.

Process

The process for this project was straightforward, focusing less on the planning and research, and more on the ideas, prototypes, visualisation and presentation of the project.

The major prototyping was done with CAD, with two physical models, one low fidelity, and then a final, high quality prototype.

Result

What resulted was a half-scale model chair with multiple useful features lending themselves well to the pastime of fishing. Some promotional posters were made also to sell the design.
